15 Reasons To Not Overlook Robot Vacuum And Mop

Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable. They pass our tests on cleaning and can take care of a variety of floors. Choose models that allow you to select between a variety of modes, self-empty and clean stairs.

Many of the best models work with your smartphone. Find an application that lets you save schedules, maps and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the behavior of the S1.

When I tried the S1, it was quick to identify our downstairs, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without hitting them, and was able to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, but it sometimes had trouble navigating down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a fantastic job cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving effortlessly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.

The S1's docking station automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water prior to each mopping session. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1's water tank holds enough water for around 12 cleaning sessions before needing to be emptied, though this can vary based the amount you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure that it's operating efficiently. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop provides an effective solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a number advanced features like voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it, rather than simply moving a pad across the surface. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station, if required.

This robot has a simple interface that guides you throughout the process. It also includes a hand vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It also has a number of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that is able to easily pick up dirt and other debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are solid as well, though it is sometimes hung up on the small rug or area mats I have in my home (which is something you can mitigate by defining a virtual boundary within the application). Its mopping is quite excellent, too, with two spinning mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation as required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. But  robot vacuums cheap  has even more impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our list of the top robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush ensure an efficient, custom-designed clean is accomplished.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It works equally well on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's most filthy areas well, and keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by a side brush that extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.

Its navigation is intelligent that can navigate narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It is able to move from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance technology isn't as advanced than other models, however, and tends to leave a thick margin over obstacles, which can result in missed spots.

The app features a simple user interface that is designed to be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleaning tasks. You can also alter suction power, mop setting as well as view 3-D and 2D maps. It is accessible through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri, allowing you to monitor its progress from any location. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. However, you will need a stable Wi-Fi connection to operate it via the app as well as external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 Pro

Robot vacuums are excellent at picking up dirt and debris but they aren't able to reach all dust. This is why it's crucial to use your regular vacuum at least once a week, especially to remove dust from corners and on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to accomplish exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your Wi-Fi at home network and is compatible with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your daily cleaning routine.

The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's less expensive because it doesn't have mopping capabilities and has plastic body.

Even though it's not able to wipe your floors, the Q5 still has the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic in this price range. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system which means you don't need to manually empty the bin every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select the type of floor and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.

Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa capacity to combat pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested to not have issues with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it could not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising because it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also has a unique mapping system that helps it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The K10 Plus also collects more dust in the bin, which means you don't have to empty it as frequently. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters, which reduces the costs associated with using the device. The robot is also able to detect carpets and increase suction if needed. You can also mark off areas you want to keep out of the app.
